How is PFMC different?

In smaller chamber and jazz groups, in orchestra and in choir, we create tailor-made parts to suit each player, and provide them with expert tuition in stables, barns and an old bull shed!  Open air is sometimes an option too, but only if the weather is calm, dry and warm. We pepper the garden with shady areas, so we can all be outside in hot weather, to play and sing. PFMC combines excellent musical learning with the freedom of the outdoors, and adds that bit of wild into the mix - and this, above all, is what makes our camps so exciting. This is no school, classroom or dormitory environment, this is proper summer holiday heaven.

We don’t audition our applicants, and the standard of our musicians ranges from beginner to grade 8. Children seem to respond really well to the mix of abilities and interests that surround them, and we keep our youngest beginners at the forefront of our orchestra and choir. This ensures they feel nurtured and valued, with parts that feel good to play whilst the overall sound from the whole PFMC Orchestra - whether it is playing Finlandia, The Gates of Kiev or Pirates of the Caribbean - is emotionally and aurally mind-blowing.
